The Scottish Harris Tweed Act of 1933
"Harris Tweed must be made from 100% pure virgin wool dyed, spun and finished in the Outer Hebrides and hand woven by the islanders at their own homes in the Islands of Lewis, Harris, Uist, Barra and their several purtenances." The act is a simple acknowledgment that this fabric cannot be produced in the same manner, of the same qualities, anywhere else.

The fabric is carefully inspected by hand and marked every 3 meters with the distinctive Orb mark, stamped with pride on the back of the cloth before it is shipped to garment designers world-wide. Wherever the cloth winds up, a bit of the magic of the Hebrides remains.

It is the same tradition that Tartan Lassie continues with handmade designs in our mountain homes. Incorporating the finest authentic vintage Harris Tweed with other fine fabrics to create designs of durability with style and utility in mind. Each," one of a kind."
